Keep track of your minutes with Prepaid Cellular Phone Cards
![]() |
When it comes to signing contracts, most people cringe when they hear the words “just sign by the x”. Some people are afraid of making a commitment, while others seem to think there’s some hidden agenda involved, luckily, prepaid cellular phone cards have given devote cell phone users an alternative option to the dreaded sign your life away contract.
With all the different cell phone providers and the new and updated cell phones that are released daily, it’s hard for some people to stay loyal to one cell phone provider. Many cellular service providers today offer long contracts that are hard to get out off, unless of course you’re willing to pay the penalty fees. Not only can you switch providers when you’ve used up your minutes on your prepaid cell phone card, but it’s a great way to keep track of how much you want to spend on your cell phone if you’re on a tight budget.
Prepaid cellular phone cards offer the convenience of having a cell phone plan without committing to any long term binding contract. By using a prepaid cellular phone card you also avoid making any commitment to a specific cell phone provider, the minute you’ve used up your minutes, you’re no longer obligated to use that service anymore.
The idea behind prepaid cellular phone cards is the pay as you go method, you are in total control of how much you want to pay and when you want to pay. This is a great service for anyone who seldom uses their cell phone, or for parents who want to keep track of the minutes their kids are using.
Another benefit of using prepaid cellular phone cards is that there is no credit check involved. Many cellular service providers require a credit check before you can get service, if your credit is not that great they often times require a large deposit. Not so with prepaid cellular phone cards, so if you’re credit is not that great, this might be the way to go.
Prepaid cellular phone cards offer most of the features as you would get with any cell phone provider such as; long-distance and local calling, international dialing, roaming, voice mail, caller ID, three-way calling, and call waiting. There are some services that offer call forwarding, line blocking, and text messaging for an extra fee.
There are a few fall backs with using a prepaid cellular phone card. You need to keep track of when your minutes expire. Once they expire you will lose them unless you roll them over by buying additional minutes on a new prepaid plan. Also prepaid minutes tend to be a little bit more expensive than a traditional cell phone service plan. So if you plan on doing a lot of talking, you might want to check out the traditional cell phone providers. Be sure to check out the coverage your prepaid cellular phone offers, some services may be limited.
